Epicanthoplasty & Restoration at DU Plastic Surgery Seoul

Overview

Epicanthoplasty releases the inner corner fold (Mongolian fold) that shortens the eye and hides its inner point, while lateral canthoplasty extends the outer corner — together lengthening the eye horizontally for a softer, more open impression.

DU also performs restoration: rebuilding inner corners that were opened too aggressively in past surgery, a delicate reverse procedure the clinic handles regularly. Both directions take 30–40 minutes with about a week of fine recovery.

Epicanthoplasty & Restoration — FAQ

Will the inner corner scar be visible?

Modern designs follow the natural lid line; temporary pinkness fades over weeks to a scar that is very hard to detect.

What is restoration surgery?

It rebuilds the fold when previous epicanthoplasty exposed too much, using local tissue rearrangement — returning a softer, natural inner corner.

How much longer will my eyes look?

Typically 1–3mm per corner — small numbers with a visibly softer, wider impression, kept in proportion to your face.

Can I do this with double eyelid surgery?

Yes, they are commonly combined; corner work completes the horizontal line the fold creates vertically.
